"Sunken city of Heracleion yields its treasures": The secrets of an Egyptian city swallowed by sand and sea more than 1,200 years ago have begun to emerge from the Mediterranean. An international team of marine archaeologists is preparing to show some of the initial finds recovered from a well-preserved ancient port city that now lies beneath the shallow waters and mud of Aboukir Bay, about 32km northeast of Alexandria.
